Our SILVER MOON Yunnan White Tea is a small-batch tea from a family-run garden. The producers, based in Pu’er, are intimately involved in this tea’s journey from farm to cup.
This white tea is unlike any other. It is processed much like a Pu’er tea, but the big difference is that it consists of the silvery, downy buds of early spring, instead of the large green leaves that become Pu’er tea.
This beautiful Yunnan white tea is characterized by sweet and subtle apricot aromas, leading to a jasmine aftertaste and a sumptuous velvety finish.
This is a tea of outstanding quality, combining the delicacy of white tea with the flavour and mouth feel of the best teas from the Pu’er region.
Like all teas, it contains catechins and polyphenols (anti-oxidants) that help strengthen the human immune system.
Brewing & Enjoying SILVER MOON Yunnan White Tea
This tea can be steeped up to 3 times (not including the rinse).
Place 8 to 10 grams in a gaiwan or teapot of your choice.
To brew in the Chinese style, first rinse the leaves. Discard the rinse immediately and reserve the wet leaves. Steep at around 85 degrees Celsius for 10 seconds. Lengthen the next steeping to 15 to 20 seconds. Lengthen the third steeping again to about 25 seconds.
But of course, you might want to experiment a little with steeping times and quantities to find your preferred strength.
This tea is perfect for vegans or those that crave a creamy warm texture to their teas. It's a perfect middle path for me because I generally don't enjoy green teas. It's like a perfect marriage between a green tea and a black tea. The flavours seem to intensify on a second or third infusion of the tea leaves.

Tried this today at the Melbourne (first) Tea Festival and it was amazing! Smooth, sweet and natural with all its goodness. It was just mesmerizing watching the green tea master perform the traditional Japanese tea ceremony. Returned multiple times for more! Definitely how green tea should be known to the general public. This tea has a fabulous earthiness and funkiness. But really it's like a wine that needs to be cellared for a few years. Good Puer aged for a few years is tea like no other. The roasted earthy notes will intensify and soften over time.
